How do we find leaders

I think in this passage, Jesus is looking for a leader/leaders to organize and to lead the sheep. As Jesus has been our leader, we hope to follow in his steps. To do this we must be strong in our spirit, focused in our thoughts and have the compassion to listen and the wisdom to guide.

Jesus is saying that there are many people, wandering through life like lost sheep, with no direction. He feels a need to build a group of 'shepards' or apoltles, so that more people can learn the word of the Lord.

Jesus tried to lead everyone to him and his Father. That means we are the workers trying to lead them to the Lord. All people should follow the rules of God and enter the gates of heaven.

The Workers Are Few

Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."
