The Word became flesh and lived among us for a while and we beheld his glory. ''John 1:14''
That word ?lived among us? is an interesting word. John is the only one to use it. It`s the Greek word ?skenoo? and comes from the word ?to pitch a tent, ? from the Greek word for ?tent.? It`s from the Old Testament, from the Greek version of the Old Testament story about God and the Tabernacle. Jesus came in and ?pitched a tent?,and ?tabernacled? among us. In going from the Tabernacle to Jesus, it`s like God has taken His next step in this idea, and we beheld His glory.
Why was sending Jesus to live on earth such an effective way for God to tell people about Himself?
Jesus came to earth to provide a way for us to able to come to God and learn about God. Jesus taught how we can be saved and forgiven thought Him as our intermediate between God and us. By: Cynthia Hinck - January 05, 2008 - Public Category: The Word Became Flesh (1) Comments

when john said no one had seen God i thought about the time Moses saw God. Didnt Moses see God face to face to or am i just remembering something wrong? Please answer my question
What is their to say im speechless really. The son of God stepped down from 42 generations to save dirt like me from hell. Awww he does love me and I'm touched. Jesus became the "light" of my world and I'm glad i am God's child. I have been adopted into GODS family. Grace has been shedded upon me time after time. UNDESERVED grace because of Jesus Christ!!!!!!! Without Christ im lifeless and in denial about being lifeless now that I've experienced life without Christ and life with Christ despite all the tactics thrown at me by satan i know who my heart belongs to: Christ and i want to 4ever live life WITH CHRIST! Awwww I really do love GOD! but becuz he 1st loved me! By: Faith Nomamiuor - October 18, 2008 - Public Category: The Word Became Flesh

My heart fills with warmth when I read these verses. It reminds me of how closely I'm communicating with God when I'm reading my Bible.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men By: Lenora Peterson Evanglist - June 03, 2008 - Public Category: The Word Became Flesh

Without living breathing proof, we would still be worshiping the idea of god's. Jesus was physical proof of the One True God. If we were only visited by Spirit of GOD, too many people would think it was just another god or belief system that someone made up.
In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with
God. All things were made
through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was
the light of men. The
light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it. There came a man, sent from God,
whose name was John. The
same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all
might believe through him. He was not the light, but was sent
that he might testify about the light. The true light that enlightens
everyone was coming into the world.
He was in the world,
and the world was made through him, and the world didn't recognize him.
He came to his own, and
those who were his own didn't receive him. But as many as received him, to
them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in
his name: who were born
not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of
God. The Word became
flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and
only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about him. He
cried out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after
me has surpassed me, for he was before me.'" From his fullness we all received
grace upon grace. For the
law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
No one has seen God at
any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of
the Father, he has declared him.
